Lego Mini Figures 6

All of the stores around here had no more Lego mini figures from collection #6. Thankfully while looking around we found four bags! Yes!!! Needless to say that Isaac was even happier then I am!

We got the Clockwork Robot, which is simply too awesome. We wanted this one so badly!! We also got the Leprechaun! A cool little figure. Next was the Mechanic who would be right at his place in the film Grease. And finally the Roman Warrior who came with helmet, shield and spear.

Now were are ready for series #7...

Marvel Universe Iron Fist

We got the new Marvel Universe action figure of Iron Fist! Its a cool character that we didn't owned yet. He first appeared in Marvel Premiere #15 (May 1974). The character starred in his own solo series in the 1970s, and shared the title Power Man and Iron Fist for several years.

Sadly once we took it out of his plastic the left leg wasn't holding properly. This is probably due to the fact that the figure is so weirdly placed in the packaging. A shame since Marvel Universe are already a little expensive and way too fragile. I had to Crazy Glue that leg for it to old now... Isaac was a little sad.

Also look at what we've seen yesterday morning! In July, Hasbro will release Wave 3 of The Avengers action figures and it will creatures a Skrull!! About once every two months, Toys R US has a special on Marvel figures. We will wait and pick up a couple of Skrulls since you can never have enough of them!

Flea Market Hunting : Batman

I just realized that last time I talked about our trip to the flea market, I forget to mention this awesome transforming Batmobile we found.

While it is sadly not complete, we got it for almost nothing so it was worth it even more. This is the Batman Brave and the Bold Batmobile. It is cool, stylish and can even transformer itself into a jet.

Here is the very cool original box (thanks to the Under the Giant Penny blog).

Lego Island

Here is the Lego island created by Isaac for his Lego pirates mini figures. Look closely and you will see that it has a swamp, jail, hidden treasure, trees and other cool stuff!

He made it all by himself and it will only gets better since he has more ideas for it.

Update: Yesterday I posted this link to the Lego Facebook page and this morning they answered, awesome!

Marvel Vs. DC

Some of Marvel most evil and powerful characters such as Galactus, Apocalypse, Sentinel, Thanos, Ultron and others were joined by DC Universe most lethal enemies like Clayface, Two-Face... Together they decided to take over the world.

Thankfully for us poor human souls, Marvel bravest heroes like Captain America, Spider-Man, Hulk, Thor, Blade, were joined by some of DC's finest like Green Lantern, Batman. Together they decided to stop the menacing forces of evil and protect us.

Sectaurs

Isaac loves the Sectaurs and he wanted me to take a photo of him with his collection.

Sectaurs: Warriors of Symbion was a line of action figures released by Coleco in 1985.

Figures and insect companions were packaged together in a window box with weapons, a mini comic book and instructions. Some of these companions were large enough for the Sectaurs to ride, and were actually "puppet like", in which you could place your hand inside a glove that made up the lower body of the beast to manipulate the legs and an action feature. A second series of figures were designed and pictured in dealers' catalogues, but never produced due to the line's cancellation.

Aliens Infestation

Unlike the usual Easter gift, I decided to give Isaac a Nintendo DS he really wanted. Aliens Infestation from Sega.

This is a really cool and scary game created by Gearbox Software for Sega. Its highly reminiscent of the original Metroid on the NES and could be considered a sequel to James Cameroun's Aliens film.

You assume control of one Colonial Marine out of an available party of four, as they blast their way through the various levels in true, retro side-scrolling style.

All Hell Break Loose!

It was a day of mayhem at our place as our 12" action figures took over and all hell break loose!

The evil Darth Vader and his malicious team planned to take over. Thankfully a group of Rebels and Super Heroes decided to join force and stop them.

Lego DC Super Heroes

Finally! We found the last of the Lego DC Super Heroes set we were missing. The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape (#6857) comes with 5 mini figures; Batman, Robin, The Joker, The Riddler and Harley Quinn. Isaac and I are very happy to finally own Quinn!

Overall its a very cool set with some great features such as trap door, Batcycle, little train, thunderous hammer and more!

Flea Market Hunting : Battlestar Galactica

One of my favourite TV show as a kid was the original Battlestar Galactica. While it clearly rip-off Star Wars, it was great to have a weekly sci-fi show on the tube.

In 1978, Mattel released some action figures, vehicles and playsets. I owned most of them but sadly lost them now. But Isaac and I managed to find two figures at the flea market.

Lt. Starbuck and the robotic dog Daggit! Hopefully we will find more as these were great action figures.

Here's a look at some of the other figures that we are looking for.

Flea Market Hunting : G.I.Joe

After Star Wars my second favourite action figures collection as a kid was G.I.Joe. I was and still am addicted to it! Isaac is slowly getting into the Joe craze. We found two very cool figures at the flea market.

First was Croc Master. He is Cobra's reptile trainer and debuted in 1987. Croc Master is a former alligator wrestler and burglar alarm salesman, who founded Guard-Gators Inc., in an effort to commercialize the use of alligators for home security. He later began to abundantly stock Cobra Island's maze-like system of shallow canals and interconnecting waterways, with ravenously hungry man-eating crocodiles, deliberately conditioning them to be hostile, psychotic and fast.

Next was Stalker.  He is the G.I. Joe Team's original ranger and debuted in 1982. He is one of very few characters from the first line of the toys to have a distinct appearance from the other action figures, as he is African-American. Stalker was a major character in the G.I. Joe comic book series published by Marvel Comics.

We both liked the first film and can't wait for the sequel! Here are some just released posters from the upcoming sequel!

Flea Market Hunting : Adventure People

In 1975 Fisher-Price introduced a new line of toys that were designed for children to play with through and beyond preschool age, a time when children are excited by the idea of exploring and being adventurous. The Adventure Series sets came with finely detailed accessories and figures that have movable legs, arms and a movable head.

My favourite Adventure People playset was the TV Action Team van. This was a great vehicle that could hold almost all the various action figures such as Star Wars, G.I.Joe and others.

The original box featured a Blue van, 3 yellow cords, camera, silver movie camera, black microphone with carry case, 7 piece black and gray tower. Figures include Kirk - white suited man with headphones; Jeff - gray haired man brown pants white shirt; Carol - black woman red skirt!!

We manage to find the van at the flea market and just like me as a kid... Isaac loves it!

Flea Market Hunting : Mego Batman

As a really young kid one of my favourite collection was the Mego Pocket Heroes. I had lots of them but the coolest were the Spider-car that came along Spider-Man and Hulk and the Batmobile that of course came with Batman and Robin. I played with those for so much I pretty much killed them. Sadly I never kept them...

During a recent trip at the flea market I managed to find the late 1970s Pocket Heroes version of the Batmobile released by Mego. Its in almost perfect condition, with only the stickers and plastic "glass" window missing. I got it for extremely cheap! I've seen this going for around $90 on Ebay. Here it is in all its glory!

Here is the original box as I remember it when I got back in the late 1970s! Also thanks to the great Mego Museum web site, here are some images of the vehicles and figures. I remember playing with these! Now I need to find them again.
