Flea Market Hunting : Star Wars

Yes, finally after all this time we found Jabba the Hutt's throne! The seller at the flea market asking for two bucks only! Great find especially since we've been trying to get as much of Jabba's entourage as possible recently.

Flea Market Hunting : Aliens

We got a brand new and sealed (but it didn't stay like that for long) Aliens figure! Its the gorilla alien released by Kenner. It came with an amazing face hugger and a comic book! Wow! Both Isaac and I were extremely excited!!! Here he is with his Aliens collection as of now.

I recently found this amazing montage on the internet and wanted to share it with all of you. Unproduced 1979 3.75" Alien action figures from Kenner! Perhaps due to the fiasco (or fury) over the original 18" Alien Warrior, Kenner decided not to not proceed with production their planned 3 3/4" Alien action figures (the same scale of their popular Star Wars action figures). Five different prototypes were made: Ripley, Ash, Dallas, Ripley in Spacesuit, and what would surely have been one of the most desireable action figures ever made, the original Alien Warrior.

Flea Market Hunting : Frankenstein

We finally found Frankenstein from the Burger King collection of Universal monsters released in 1997. These new figures are very similar to the ones released by Remco in the 1980s. Ever since we watched The Monster Squad film, Isaac has been wanting to own these.

Flea Market Hunting : Batman

We finally found the Happy Meal's Lego Mr. Freeze released a few years ago. We already have the Joker and I think Batman. I still don't understand why they made those so big... they should have been like the normal Lego mini figures.

Flea Market Hunting : Batman

We got a very cool Bruce Wayne action figure from the flea market. This cool figure was released in 2004 as part of The Batman collection. It is missing his mask and cape but Isaac is still very happy.

Flea Market Hunting : Lego Spongebob

After what probably seem like forever to Isaac, we finally found a Lego Spongebob mini figure! Personally I am new to this Spongebob universe. I know a little of the character but not much. But if my son loves it... then its the greatest thing in the world!

Captain America The First Avenger

The other bad guy we got from the Captain America universe was Red Skull! Now let me tell you that when Isaac saw it at out local Toys R US... he totally freaked! For some reasons, this is kinda rare around here and it was actually the first time we saw that figure.

Its a great action figure that comes with a few accessories, including a blue cosmic cube, which is the tesseract, a powerful artifact believed to be of Asgardian descent!!!!!! The concept of that blue cosmic cube was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appeared in Tales of Suspense #79 (July 1966).

The Red Skull was first introduced in Captain America Comics #1 in 1941. The first Red Skull (George Maxon) to appear in comics was an American industrialist turned Nazi saboteur. Maxon turned out to be an agent of the true Red Skull (Johann Schmidt), considered (according to S.H.I.E.L.D.) as one of the greatest threats to humanity, and a long-time archenemy of Captain America.

Captain America The First Avenger

With the summer release of the live action Captain America The First Avenger film came some action figurines from Hasbro. Sadly most of them were only variations of Captain America but a few cool ones came out like Crossbones!

Created by writer Mark Gruenwald and artist Kieron Dwyer in Captain America #359-360 (1989). Crossbones usually appears as a henchman of the Red Skull. He carried out the assassination of Captain America, although Sharon Carter, who was under hypnosis at the time, is believed to have fired the fatal shots.

Its a cool figure for a bad ass character!

Happy Meals : Smurfs

When the live action Smurfs film was out in theatre, the Happy Meal featured cool little figures of the blue characters. Isaac had already got a couple of these at his mom's so I let him bring this Smurfette there so she could be with her friends!

The Smurfs (French: Les Schtroumpfs, Dutch: De Smurfen) is a comic and television franchise centred on a group of small blue fictional creatures called Smurfs, created and first introduced as a series of comic strips by the Belgian cartoonist Peyo on October 23, 1958.

Marvel Super Hero Adventures

The last Marvel Super Hero Adventures pack we got was Hulk and Thor. Two of the mightiest and coolest figures. As a kid, Hulk was my favourite super hero! Now we are only missing Wolverine and Captain America.

Marvel Super Hero Adventures

Another very cool Marvel Super Hero Adventures pack we got was Iron Man and Dr.Doom. I have to admit that Dr.Doom has become one of my favourite figure. Isaac really loves him too. Those Playskool figures are simply irresistible!

Marvel Super Hero Adventures

By now I think you all know how much we love Fisher Price's Imaginext collection. Their DC Comics based action figures and play sets are simply amazing! Not to be left aside, Playskool (through Hasbro) have released Marvel Super Hero Adventures!

At about the same size as the Imaginext figures now you can have both Marvel and DC Comics heroes together! Eight difference figures are released so far, along with vehicles and a crime-fighthing headquarters playset.

Lucky for us, days after seeing them online we found some at our local store, Legends. Spider-Man and the Green Goblin is the perfect combo. Both figures are very cool, detailed and now amongst our favourites.

Happy Birthday Isaac : Alien

Isaac's final birthday gift from me was the just release Alien Facehugger plush! Ever since we saw it online, Isaac has been asking for it. I seriously never expected him to become such a big fan of Alien... especially at his age!

I can say that the Alien Facehugger plush hardly ever leaves him. And I burst out laughing then first night he went to bed and he actually put the Facehugger on his face to sleep! I had to explain that it was dangerous and that this plush is for fun... but that it might actually eat him during his sleep...

Happy Birthday Isaac : Lego

From his friend Nathan, Isaac got the very cool Lego City Lighting Repair (#3179) set. It contains 118 pieces. This is Isaac very first Lego City set. He did it all by himself!

It features a moveable crane arm that rotates 360 degrees and 2 storage compartments, 1 street lamp with an extra light bulb, 2 fence sections, 1 basket, 1 green recycle bin and a mini figurine.

Happy Birthday Isaac : Star Wars

I managed to get three more Star Wars action figures for Isaac birthday... used but still.

First is the original Kenner version of Lobo. I used to own it as a kid. It is not the greatest figure but still... we needed him! Secondly was Anakin Skywalker as we see him in the original version of The Return of the Jedi. This is very cool and I think hard to find figure (but not as hard as the original one from Kenner). And last but not least, I got a new Wookie! We got like three different version of Chewbacca but this is our first other Wookie and hopefully not the last. They all came with their original weapons!

Happy Birthday Isaac : Lego Ben 10

For his birthday I got Isaac two Lego Ben 10 Alien Force sets! Swampfire (#8410) and Chromastone (#8411). These are his first Lego Ben 10 sets. Isaac likes them but I think he wished they were mini figurines instead... imagine a whole Ben 10 mini figures collection with vehicles and play sets!

Happy Birthday Isaac : Lego

From his friend Nolan, Isaac got some cool Ben 10 tattoos along with the awesome Lego Monster 4 game! Night has fallen in the graveyard and the monsters have come out to play with the skeletons. The first to get four of their monsters in a row wins. But watch out for the big scary spider!

This is the third Lego game Isaac gets and probably not the last!

Happy Birthday Isaac : Spawn

I managed to find one Spawn action figure for Isaac birthday, a limited edition version of Angela. This time she's a red hair but the figure is actually a little different then the other one he owns. It comes with different weapons and outfit.

Happy Birthday Isaac : Imaginext

Isaac and I love Fisher Price Imaginext! They are amazing, well built and designed. Isaac has been asking me for that new Green Lantern Planet OA play set. Unfortunately most Imaginext sets are released a year later around here but I was lucky enough to find it.

This cool set is basically a re-coloured version of the Space station play set they release about two years ago. It the same but with some little new 'Lantern-ish" design. It comes with lots of cool accessories and three figures; Green Lantern, Kilowog and B'DG the squirrel.

Since we already have a Hal Jordan Imaginext figure, I am thinking of customizing this new one into a Guy Gardner version.

Happy Birthday Isaac : Lego Star Wars

I got Isaac the new Lego Star Wars The Padawan Menace movie on DVD! Its actually a combo DVD with a Blu-ray and a limited edition mini figure.

The Padawan Menace was at first a thirty-minute TV special. It features the usual Lego type comedy we both enjoy and love. I won't spoil anything about this short film, see it for yourself.

Happy Birthday Isaac : Ben 10

Ben 10 was one of the very first series Isaac got into. For his birthday I found the just released and extremely cool Ben 19 with plumber suit action figure. This is part of the new series, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien.

The Plumbers' Uniforms are specific outfits that the Plumbers wear during missions. They are based on nanotechnology and can have multiple gadgets attached to them. They serve many purposes, from space suits to simple "armour".

Happy Birthday Isaac : Star Wars

I got Isaac the recently released Return of the Jedi R2-D2 figure. This is a cool figure of everyone's favourite R2 unit when he serves Jabba the Hutt in the last film of the original trilogy. It comes with lots oc accessories such as Luke's lightsaber, glasses...

Happy Birthday Isaac : Marvel

Another Toy Biz Marvel Legends I got for Isaac's birthday was the Super Skrull!! Ever since I told him that the Skrulls would be the bad guys in the upcoming The Avengers film, Isaac has been asking me for a Skrull figure.

Super Skrull is a very cool action figure. He looks like he means business! Isaac loves him and already wants more to build his own Skrull army!!

The Skrulls first appeared in Fantastic Four #2 (January 1962) and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Happy Birthday Isaac : Marvel

Without a doubt the coolest Marvel action figure I got Isaac for his birthday was the Toy Biz's Marvel Legends 15 series build a figure Modok!

Modok is built from seven pieces, and once assembled stands 8" tall. He moves at the ankles, knees, thighs, hips, fingers, wrists, gloves, elbows, biceps and shoulders, which is a lot more than you might expect on a big freak like this. There are additional pivot points for the control stick and the thruster, as well - since there's no way Modok can walk by himself, he mostly gets around via flying chair.

This is a great looking figure which happens to be almost impossible to find! Isaac is extremely proud to own him especially since I told him that the plan for the Captain America film sequel is to have Modok as the main bad guy!

Debuting in Tales of Suspense #94, Modokwas a classic bit of misbegotten Jack Kirby. Created by corrupt scientists to be the ultimate organism of destruction, MODOK now seeks to fulfill his genetic programming - by enslaving or destroying all life on earth! Possessing a massive intellect and psychokinetic ability, Modok's only weakness is the frailty of his physical form. Without the assistance of his robotic exo-skeleton, he could hardly even move!
