Flea Market Hunting: Ben 10

This was a Ben 10 flea market hunting as we also found two really big Ben 10 figures of both Humungousaur and XLR8.

Humungousaur stands 6-inches tall, with multiple points of articulation, and features a trigger on his back that activates fighting-mode action! His arms lift up as his mouth opens and chest muscles flex. Its a great looking figure!

As for XLR8, the button on his back activates the water and propeller contained behind his transparent chest plate and features cool oozing DNA Slime bubbles. There are also wheels on his feet and tail. I have seen this action figure going for around $80 on Ebay and Amazon... we got it for $2.

Flea Market Hunting: Ben 10

We scored a couple of Ben 10 action figures during our last trip at the flea market!

We got an alternate version of XLR8, this one with the front "window" of his helmet opened. XLR8 is a Kinecceleran (a portmanteau of the words "kinetic" and "accelerate") from the planet Kinet (the first part of kinetic, which is movement energy).

We also got our very first Ripjaws! Ripjaws is a Piscciss Volann (from piscēs, the Latin word for fish) of the planet Piscciss, a 98% water-based world with solid matter only at its core, and the gravity is controlled by a gravity instrument, which holds all water and the beings on the planet, but Aggregor takes the instrument and shows that it was a piece of the Map of Infinity, and the anti-gravity projector of Goop now controls the gravity.

And finally me found Ghostfreak! Ghostfreak is an ectonurite one of Ben's aliens who's DNA was taken from Zs'Skayr, the High Ecto-Lord of the Ectonurite homeworld of Anur Phaetos, who existed in the Omnitrix due to Ectonurites having the ability for their mind to exist in even in the smallest strand of their DNA. Ghostfreak's original appearance was similar to that of a ghost with only one eye and a black track along his skin but after freeing himself, he tore off the second skin to reveal his true horrifying form. He has the power to phase through matter and possess humans by going into them and controlling them.

Older Ben 10 action figures such as these are extremely hard to find around here. Needless to say that we were both extremely happy to have find them!

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

We got two Star Wars action figures during our last flea market hunting.

We got another R5-D4, yes this is the original 1978 Kenner figure, which we already owned but you simply can never have enough of these old droids.

We also got C3-PO from The Phantom Menace film, which we didn't owned yet. Not the most exciting figure but learning through the prequel that Anakin is the one who actually created C3-PO was hard to digest.

Flea Market Hunting: Super Heroes

We found a very cool Rhino mini figure from the Marvel Super Heroes Squad collection. Isaac has tons of them but we never did get this one, plus for 50 cents we couldn't pass on it!

Also got a cool new Robin action figure. This is our fourth figure of the famous character. We are trying to get all versions from the various stage of his life. Hopefully we will soon find Nightwing.

Flea Market Hunting: Thundercats

Guess what?! The flea market hunting season is now on!

By far the coolest place to find action figures! Last weekend my son and I made a quick stop to see if it was open... and behold it was! And it was totally worth the trip as we found lot of cool stuff.

First of all we got our hands on the very cool Mumm-Ra action figure from the great LJN 1980s Thundercats collection! He is the chief villain and main antagonist against Lion-O and the Thundercats!

This is a cool and kinda scary figure with a switch on his back that activates his arms to punch his adversary. Here he is fighting the leader of the Thundercats.

Tron Legacy

Last weekend while doing the grocery, Isaac and I quickly went through the action figure aisle and guess what we found... yes, the Tron Legacy Quorra action figure! Its a nice and detailed figure that comes with a few accessories and fits perfectly in her vehicle.

Actually most of the second series was available! Some new vehicle are wicked cool! We both love Tron and the sequel so we will probably get them all.

Lego at the museum

Apart from the Lego collections displayed the actual exposition wasn't that impressive. A small dark room had some toys in behind locked windows displayed. There was few activities for kids but after 15 minutes we've seen and done it all. Thankfully it was free during the last weekend!

Still Isaac and I ended up getting a few cool Lego freebies and spend some times with others kids making Lego creations.

Lego at the museum

A few weeks ago there was toy exposition at the McCord Museum in Montreal. Isaac and I finally learned about it a few days before he last weekend. Without any hesitation we decided to go.

Lucky for us, the last weekend was more or less dedicated to Lego! QuéLug (Quebec Lego User Group) was in attendance, displaying some amazing sets and collection!

Ben 10

The Ben 10 Ultimate Alien action figures are slowly appearing around here in stores. While shopping for some clothes, we got two new ones.

First of all is the Ultimate Cannonbolt! We never managed to find the original one so needless to say that Isaac was extremely happy! We also got NRG, a new alien which sadly I don't remember seeing him/it in the new TV series yet.

There are still a couple of cool Ben 10 figures we are looking for. Hopefully in the coming months we'll get our hands on them all!

The End of Marvel ?

After unpacking our brand new 19" Galactus action figure, my son and I played for two hours straight. It was the coming of Galactus... and the possible end of the Marvel Universe. These are some of the coolest moments ever with my son.

In the background was Hans Zimmer's amazing soundtrack for Inception. It made our time playing even more fun and at time dramatic.

Most Marvel Super Villains had joined force to an evil plan. Apocalypse, Dr.Doom, Magneto and the Mandarin were the leaders of this new team of bad guys. They had just found the evil and powerful "galactic brain". With it, Kang (sitting in front of the computer) was able to send a encoded message throughout the galaxy... in hope of awakening the ultimate evil.

Our Marvel Super Heroes already had their hands full. Deadpool was in jail (look closely at the image) since he betrayed them and was the one helping the bad guys finding that mysterious galactic brain. Hulk, The Thing and The Punisher were making sure that the loud mouthed Deadpool won't go away.

In the meantime, Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man and others were trying to find out just why the Super Villains wanted that galactic brain.

The bad guys made a diversion, sending Juggernauth and Abomination to save Deadpool while Kang was actually trying to get in touch and a super natural evil being.

The Silver Surfer got the message and let his master known about it. Together they were now heading into planet Earth.

Enter Galactus...

Even though they gave a fight, no Super Heroes could match the strength and power of Galactus. In the end only Hulk and Wolverine were left but their death was surely coming.

Its then that the Incredible Hulk called another radioative creature to help them...
Godzilla!

Now Galactus might have finally meet his match!

Galactus is here!

Here are more photos of Isaac with what is probably the coolest action figure ever made, Galactus! The character debuted in Fantastic Four #48 (March 1966), the first of a three-issue story later known as "The Galactus Trilogy".

In 1966, nearly five years after having launched Marvel Comics' flagship superhero title, Fantastic Four, creators Stan Lee and Jack Kirby collaborated on an antagonist designed to break from the archetypal mold of supervillains of the time, and be instead a being of god-like stature and power. As Lee recalled in 1993, Galactus was simply another in a long line of super-villains whom we loved creating. Having dreamed up [many] powerful baddies ... we felt the only way to top ourselves was to come up with an evil-doer who had almost godlike powers. Therefore, the natural choice was sort of of demi-god, but now what would we do with him. We didn't want to use the tired old cliche about him wanting to conquer the world. ... That was when inspiration struck. Why not have him not be a really evil person? After all, a demi-god would be beyond mere good and evil. ... [What] he'd require is the life force and energy from living planets!

Kirby described his Biblical inspirations for Galactus and an accompanying character, an angelic herald Lee dubbed the Silver Surfer: My inspirations were the fact that I had to make sales. And I had to come up with characters that were no longer stereotypes. ...I had to get something new. And ... for some reason, I went to the Bible. And I came up with Galactus. And there I was in front of this tremendous figure, who I knew very well, because I always felt him, and I certainly couldn't treat him the same way that I would any ordinary mortal ... and of course the Silver Surfer is the fallen angel. ...[T]hey were figures that have never been used before in comics. They were above mythic figures, and of course, they were the first gods.

"I Am Devourer Of Worlds!" - Galactus

I guess it was just a moment of time before we had to get him... the Marvel Universe Masterworks Galactus figure. This amazing electronic figure measures a mammoth 19" tall and features cosmic lights and fearsome phrases.

This version of Galactus is probably the coolest action figure ever made! This huge figure is extremely well sculpted and detailed. Purple, light and dark blue, some black paint work is flawless. It is also well articulated (about 24 points) and says a total of eleven phrases! Push his chest button and he speaks and his eyes and helmet jewels light up yellow.

And let's not forget the very cool 3 ¾" scale Silver Surfer action figure it comes with.

Even the packaging is superb! There is a die cut cover that opens to some nice graphics and a "try me" button. The box was easy to open without having to destroy it.

Doomed to hunger eternally for the energy locked within life-bearing planets, Galactus wanders the spaceways in his world ship. His body is filled to bursting with the infinite Power Cosmic – a power that grants him absolute control over the fundamental nature of the universe around him. The forces that rule the lives of lesser beings are meaningless to Galactus.

For him, there is only the hunger he feels. Inhabited worlds across the universe live in constant fear of the day when the shadow of mighty Galactus darkens their skies, for it is on that day their world will end. So it will be until the end of time, for Galactus will not be deterred, and he cannot be stopped. He will consume world after world until the universe completes its cycle and collapses in upon itself. Once a new universe is born out of the old, great Galactus will rise, and feed again.

A small fragment of his vast might has been granted to the Silver Surfer – greatest of his heralds. Once a man like any other on his home planet of Zenn-La, the Silver Surfer sacrificed his humanity to save his world. His mind and body changed forever by the power he now wields, he serves Galactus absolutely and without question. Together, herald and master are a force of nature, undeniable and inevitable.

Valentine's Day : Tron Legacy

As his last gift for being my one and only Valentine, Isaac got the very cool Tron Legacy deluxe Runner vehicle. This is probably the coolest of all the Tron Legacy vehicle out there! When you place a figure inside (sold separately) the lights on it will stay on for a long time. It seats two figures. The front wheel section pivots for added articulation. Now all we need is Quorra to drive it!

Daddy loves you Isaac.

Valentine's Day : Tron Legacy

Another cool Tron Legacy item I got for Isaac is the beautiful white Light Cycle of Kevin Flynn! Based on the cycles from the original film, this new one lights up and you can open the cockpit and easily have a 3 3/4" figure in there.

Now I just discovered that they actually made a figure of the Quorra character. Anyone could help on finding it as I have never seen it anywhere around here!

Valentine's Day : Tron Legacy

My son and I loved Tron Legacy. As for action figures based on the film we were missing some good guys. I finally got and gave him the figure of Sam Flynn. Its a cool figure but his face is a little... weird!

Valentine's Day

Being a single father means that I have a lot of quality time with my son. It also means that I am alone and don't have a girlfriend... so my incredible son was my valentine this year!

Of course I had to get him some cool stuff. He is allergic to peanuts so finding chocolate without any is not always easy. In the end I got him a very cool Square Sponge Bob heart with burger candies! I also gave him a Square Sponge Bob card that came with lots of cool stickers. In the next few days, I will reveal which awesome action figures he got from me for Valentine's day. I love you Isaac.

Batman Imaginext

Here's a quick look at Isaac's Fisher Price Imaginext Batman collection.

This is without a doubt one of his favorite action figures collection. As always Fisher Price have done an amazing job with their Imaginext series. Hopefully there will be more to come!
