Isaac's fourth birthday: Toy Story

From his kindergarden group, Isaac received a bunch of nice plastics animals along with very cool Zurg figure from the Toy Story series. The Evil Emperor Zurg is the archenemy of Buzz Lightyear. In the films he is voiced by Andrew Stanton. Sorry for the blurry photo!

Isaac's fourth birthday: Batman

I got Isaac a couple of very cool Fisher Price Batman Imaginext action figures for his birthday. These are extremely hard to find around here but I managed to score some!

First is the cool Batman with Batcycle. This is the darker Batman who comes with 2 batarangs. The Batcycle is nicely designed and Batman fits perfectly in it.

Next is Superman who comes with Krypto (Superdog) and some accessories that helps Superman with Kryptonite.

Mr. Freeze is one of our favorite and the Imaginext version is great! It actually comes with a  freezing chamber, a freeze gun and a block of ice.

Finally here's all of our Batman Imaginext figures, now joined by the Penguin, the Joker and the Jokermobile.

Isaac's fourth birthday: Iron Man

It is no surprise that Isaac loves Iron Man. A few months ago I bought him the ultra cool Iron Man mask now for his fourth birthday I got him the Iron Man 2 electronic repulsor blaster!

This electronic blaster accessory features motion activated lights and missiles launcher. It comes with glove and four repulsor missile accessories. The sounds it makes is pretty much exactly like in the movies. Three AAA batteries are required (seriously like most other electronic toys it should have come with batteries).

Its a cool toy but the missiles should have been in foam instead of hard plastic, which is actually a little dangerous. And here's a picture of Isaac from a few months ago at our local Toys R Us.

Isaac's fourth birthday: Star Wars

Another gift I gave to Isaac for his fourth birtday was a Star Wars Clone Wars Clone Trooper blaster. Like myself, he loves Troopers! You can load the blaster with all three foam darts and pull the trigger for a targeting light that helps you scope out the enemy. But beware as the darts fire rather forcefully! Overall a cool gun to help us fight the Empire.

Isaac's fourth birthday: Star Wars

My good friends Robert (uncle Bob) and Julie gave to Isaac for his birthday the ultra cool Star Wars Lego Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter set (#8093)!

Straight from the Clone Wars animated series. The starfighter features landing gear and a cockpit ejection seat. Two mini figures included are Plo Koon and R7-D4. The starfighter measures 10" long and contains 175 pieces. It is a beautiful kit with some cool features and details.

It took me about an hour (and a few beers) to build. We were in need of some Rebel/Jedi spaceships as the only one we owned were the Tie Fighter and Imperial Shuttle.

Isaac's fourth birthday: Super Mario Bros.

Just like his dad, Isaac loves Nintendo. He's addicted to the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii. Lately he's been playing Super Mario 64 a lot on the DS. For his birthday, his friend Nathan gave him the ultra cool Super Mario and Yoshi 4.5" figures.

Made by Banpresto, they both are nicely sculpted and look exactly like the characters in the games. Now we need to find Donkey Kong and Bowser.

Isaac's fourth birthday: Iron Man

Like most little boys these days, my son loves Iron Man. And for the past few months he kept on asking to buy the Mandarin. There used to be tons of him in stores everywhere but recently he's been harder to find. Yet two weeks before Isaac's fourth birthday I found one!

From the Iron Man Armored Adventures Animated series, the Mandarin action figure stands 3 3/4". It is highly detailed, with a very high tech suit and two gigantic swords.

It is a very cool figure... now if we could only find the Whiplash figure from the Iron Man 2 movie.

Isaac's fourth birthday: Star Wars

The first two gifts I gave to my son for his birthday were not surprisingly Star Wars related. For the past few months he's been asking me to dress up as Boba Fett for Halloween. Thankfully Hasbro had recently released both the Boba Fett helmet and blaster.

The Boba Fett Electronic Helmet is very cool. It is highly detailed, robust and makes sound effects, phrases and has a light-up antenna. Phrases and sounds change when the antenna is up or down.

The Electronic Blaster lights up when you pull the trigger. Its a cool electronic weapon that makes loud battle damage sounds.

Needless to say that Isaac now feels like the toughest bounty hunter in the galaxy!

Flea Market Hunting: Batman

Last but far from being the least interesting of our purchases at our last trip at the flea market, Isaac and I found our second Batman Gotham City Shadowcast Batcave Playset!!!!!!

At the beginning of the summer we found one for only $7... that new one was surprisingly only $7 too. Totally crazy as it is impossible to find and goes for around $130 to $150 online! This was released in 2002 as a Toys R Us exclusive.

Batman's Command center the Batcave is an amazing deluxe loaded with play features! Batcave Extends to over 30" in length then compacts for easy storage. Batcave includes multiple action features like Batman/Bruce Wayne Rotating Chamber, Batmobile Garage Door, Command Computer Console, Anti-Gravity hooks, Breakaway Skylight, Sky Cable with Arm Clip, Breakaway Catwalk.

Flea Market Hunting: Batman

And we also found some Batman action figures at the flea market. Bruce Wayne unmasked and dressed up as Batman, an almost complete version of Azrael and we finally found one of our favorite character... Clayface, which we have been looking to own for a long time now.

Clayface looks very cool and its removable arm can be shot by pressing his stomach!

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

Two other Star Wars action figures we found during our last trip at the flea market was the original vintage 1978 Stormtrooper (in great condition) and the 1980 edition of IG-88, which sadly is missing its arms! I am really happy to have found the trooper! He is joining our ever growing collection of troopers!

Isaac's fourth birthday

My son's birthday was last Wednesday (the 13th) but we finally celebrated him today! I've got to tell you that he received lots of awesome toys! In the coming days we will have posts about them, the flea market and the ToyCon which is happening tomorrow!

In the meantime, here's the very cool Plants Vs. Zombies cake I had made for the special occasion. We are both addicted to the game on the iPad and Macbook.

The cake looked great and tasted even better! We took multiple photos of it and were almost sad to eat the plants and zombies! It was a big success with everyone and will forever be remembered by the both of you! The cake was made by Cakes by San. Check out their official web site and Facebook page!

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

It is no secret that my son and I are addicted to Star Wars action figures! We probably own over 100 now (need to count them soon!). During our last trip at the flea market we had found Ben Kenobi and Darth Maul but also some others.

There is the AT-AT (or AT-ST) driver, an Ewok (probably Chief Chirpa),  Lando in disguise during Return of the Jedi (my son asked me for this one for a long time), a Shadow of the Empire soldier and some dude which sadly I have no clue as to who he is... anyone can help?!

Happy birthday to my incredible four years old son!
I love you Isaac.
Here he is with his new Boba Fett helmet and gun I got him for his birthday!

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

During our last trip at the flea market we found many 3 3/4" Star Wars action figures. Two of them that my son been waiting to own for sometime are Ben Kenobi from Attack of the Clones (so with his beard) and Darth Maul all in black from The Phantom Menace.

Lo and behold we found both of them for only $2 each! Now we can re-create that classic lightsabers fight between the two.

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

Another very cool figure we found at the flea market is a 12" unmasked Darth Vader released by Hasbro in 1997. The figure is well designed and detailed. Much to our surprise, we discovered that the figure talked!

Unfortunately it was missing the top of its mask and lightsaber. But we couldn't pass on it especially since it was only $5 and that we already own the classic 1978 15" Darth Vader.

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

Last week Isaac and I went to the flea market with some friends. It was a worthy trip to our favorite place for action figures. We managed to find some very cool ones.

Our first find was a inbox mint and sealed 11" Zam Wesell figure from the Star Wars Attack of the Clones film. While she ain't the coolest character, we need to own every bounty hunters, and at only $5 we couldn't pass on it. Plus she's a shapeshifting which is always good.

The figure is actually pretty cool. She comes with two guns, her real alien face (as a mask) and helmet and real clothing.

Lego Spider-Man

Among the Lego collectors, the Spider-Man collection figures are some of the hardest to find. But lucky us, we found two when I bought some Lego figures from the son of a friend of mine.

We are now proud owners of both Spider-Man and Mary Jane Lego figures! My son has been extremely happy about these and has told many of his friends that he now own Spider-Man as a Lego figure. Yeah, I am the coolest dad!

Lego Batman

I offered to the son of a friend of mine who just turned eleven to buy some of his Lego figures. After about an hour of going through boxes of Lego we found many. Once I arrived home I separated them all by collection. These are the Lego Batman figures I found for Isaac.

When Isaac arrived home and noticed the Lego Batman figure he went nuts! In fact, he has been playing with them everyday since the moment I gave them to him. He loves Batman and Lego are the coolest!

On the picture you can see that we got NightWing, Poison Ivy, Two Faces (but without his original face), Batman himself, a goon and the Joker. Lego Batman fans knows just how hard and expensive these figures are. Isaac and I are so happy to finally own them!

Star Wars

Last week I gave to my son the last sealed Star Wars figure I owned. I still have tons of opened vintage figures but he doesn't know about it... yet!

That last figure was Dash Rendar from the Shadows of the Empire comic book. I have never been a fan of expanded universe so when Kenner decided to makes only Shadows of the Empire figures I quit. Released in 1996, it is still a cool figure and now my son own another cool smuggler, mercenary.

Lego

Last week my son received his second issue of the Lego Club Magazine. Needless to say he was extremely happy to receive some mail. This new issue has some cool stuff on various Lego collections such as World Racers, Hero Factory, Star Wars, Technic, Harry Potter and more.

It is filled with comics, games and ads.

McDonald's

Say what you want but McDonald's Happy Meal are cool! These days they are "giving away" Star Wars Clone Wars skateboards! After spending twelve and a half hour at the hospital for my son's first asthma crisis we were both extremely tired so we went to the local new renovated McDonald's. With that Anakin Skywalker board, Isaac got himself a very cool Cad Bane tattoo.

Flea Market Hunting: Batman

Two action figure we also found at our flea market are from the Batman universe. We got the 1997 edition of Mr.Freeze based on the Arnold version in the Batman & Robin film along with an ultra cool looking Ra's Al Ghul. That version was released as part of the Batman Begins collection. We had been looking for Ghul for sometime now. He is yet another one who joins the rogue team of Batman's villains.

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

We found a cool 10" Jango Fett released by Hasbro in 2002 from the Attack of the Clones film. The figure has very few moving parts, was missing its mask and the guns are glued to his hands. Still we needed a Jango figure.

I have been trying to find some informations about which collection it is from but no such luck.

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

At our last trip at the flea market we found a couple of cool action figures. One of them was the Return of the Jedi Biker Scout. That twenty seven years old figure has aged kinda badly with most of its white plastic now extremely yellow. Still for under two bucks we simply couldn't pass on it! And now we actually have a Biker Scout to ride one of our three bikes.
