Star Wars Power of the Force Action Figures

I remember that as a kid I idolized Luke Skywalker. He's everything a young boy wants to become growing up. It is no wonder to me that my son loves Luke so much and owns so many action figures based on him.

Well it is a new week after all so I decided to give him Luke in Dagobah training suit. The moment he saw it he went nuts (and thats like his sixth Luke figure). He took Yoda's training bag and put it on Luke's back to recreate Empire Strike Back. Now that's passion.

Hulk Hogan

Growing up in the 1980s, I can admit that I was addicted to professional wrestling. And like most kids of my age my idol was none other then Hulk Hogan! The all American WWF champion represented everything that my young virgin mind though of good.

Unfortunately as a kid I never owned that ultra cool large 16" Hulk Hogan figure released from LJN Toys. But not too long ago I managed to find one on Ebay. No I don't sleep with it but I have to admit that I am extremely proud of it.

One thing that's even cooler is that I am slowly getting my son into wrestling. And no, we won't be watching that new WWE junk. Old school wrestling is what is playing at our house! And while my son is not really familiar with wrestling for some reason he knows that Hulk Hogan kick ass! Well he does but he is sadly no match to the almighty Godzilla, which still remains undefeated in our house.

Star Wars

After lunch we decided to make a quick jump to our favorite action figures store in Montreal, Legends. Our quest was to find three Star Wars figures. We ended up buying only two, one of them we've been looking for sometime.

We've been watching Return of the Jedi a lot lately and my son absolutely wanted a Carbonite freezed Han Solo figure. There's various versions made through the years, not sure of the one we got but its pretty cool. Now we can recreated classic moments from both Return of the Jedi and Empire Strike Back.

We also got an Imperial Royal Guard which my son calls the red Stormtroopers. I've always wanted one of these as a kid but never did. Now I do... well we both do.

Star Wars Power of the Force Action Figures

Another week, another Star Wars Power of the Force action figure for my son. We've been watching Return of the Jedi a lot lately. My son keeps asking me who is that creature in the Falcon along with Lando?

I've always love Nien Nunb but had no clue as to where he came from. In the film, we know absolutely nothing from him... apart from the fact that he seem to talk too much. Even weirder is that Lando seem to understand what Nunb is saying!

Iron Man

One of my son favorite superhero is Iron Man. Tony Stark's alter ego is one of the most beloved Marvel character. Ever since we saw the last film, my son wanted an Iron Man mask. He already owns a Hulk mask so I had no choice but to get him a new one. Now we can both walk around wearing mask and kicking ass.

Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice...

With all the endless love and passion, probably one of the coolest aspect of having a son his spending countless hours playing action figures.

As I've mentioned before, months ago I gave him the Super Powers' Hall of Justice playset I owned as a kid. This cool playset has become the house of heroes while the Batcave we found at the flea market is always the hideout for villains.

Whenever we play with our Star Wars collection these two playsets are used. You can see that the Hall of Justice is the perfect thing for the Jedi council to hold meeting and spend too much time talking and not taking actions (like in the prequel films). While on the other side the classic original trilogy Star Wars figures are ready for action!

The Batcave is almost the perfect faux Death Star playset. There's traps, a weird rotative room (carbonite freezing usually happens there), a seat for the Emperor and a big door for Jabba the Hutt to be able to actually enter.

That night the Imaginext's dinosaurs we own were used as Rancor monsters while Darth Vader was lucky enough to drive the Batmobile. That's how I spend most of my nights with my incredible three years old son.

M.A.S.K.

A few months ago I got on Ebay some M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) figures and vehicules for my son. I was a little too old when the show first started back in 1985 but my brother was a big fan. An hybrid of G.I.Joe and Transformers, the Kenner collection was among the coolest at the time.

I got Wildcat which comes with an Buddy Hawk figure. It is basically a tow truck that transforms itself into a vertical fighting machine. Afterburn which is a dragster that transforms itself into a stealth jet and cannon launcher. But the coolest of them all, is Rhino! The huge tractor rig that becomes a mobile defense unit! Rhino came with a Matt Trakker figure.

I hope that in a near future I will be able to find more cool M.A.S.K. vehicules and figures.

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

Yesterday we made a quick stop at the flea market. There wasn't as many dealers as usual but we did managed to find three Star Wars figures we didn't owned. Admiral Akbar (It's a TRAP!), bounty hunter and one of my all time favorite Bossk and Jedi knight Luke Skywalker.

And while looking around I came across and old friend who was selling tons of old stuff. He gave my son this cool and big purple dinosaur, which we sadly have no clue from which collection it comes from.

Lego

Last week I got two Lego sets on Ebay for extremely cheap.

Lego Star Wars #6206 Tie Fighter Interceptor, complete with figure and instruction manual. This is my son's very first Lego Star Wars set and he was so happy to see it. The thing is big and looks cool. He's been playing with it nonstop since I gave it to him. The set goes for around $60 on Ebay... got it for 1/10th of that.

Next was a Lego Pirates Loot Island #6421. While its missing some small pieces it is a very cool set with three figures, island, boat and more. This set I got for less then the price of a bag of chips!

Needless to say I will be hunting Ebay for more cool Lego sets.

Star Wars Power of the Force Action Figures

One of my all time favorite film is The Empire Strike Back. An amazing sequel to a classic film. Thirty years later the film is just as powerful. One of my son and I favorite sequence is on Hoth. For sometime now we owned a Tauntaun and Luke Skywalker in Hoth suit figures... all we were missing was Han Solo. It was the next logical step to give my son Solo as his next action figure.

Comics

One thing my son and I love to do is read comics about our favorites action figure collections. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Toy Story, Spider-Man, Hulk and countless others. We often spend some time just relaxing and enjoying reading.

Star Wars

Probably one of the coolest aspect of the whole Star Wars universe is the lightsaber. It is what everyone consider the most powerful weapon of the universe. The lightsaber consists of a polished metal hilt which projects a blade of energy about one meter long. The lightsaber is the signature weapon of the Jedi order and their Sith counterparts. Everyone wants one... and now my son owns one.

It was only a matter of time before my young Jedi would actually have his own sword. He choose the colour red in honor of Darth Vader.

Play-Doh

As a kid I've always loved Play-Doh. There is something about that modeling compound that is simply too cool to describe. The non-toxic, non-staining, reusable Play-Doh can be manipulated to create almost anything! A few months ago for his birthday my son received a Star Wars themed Play-Doh set. Needless to say that we often play with it as it is Star Wars and extremely cool!

Flea Market Hunting: Star Wars

I have to admit that we somehow cheated last weekend... as we went twice to the flea market. Sunday morning while looking at Kijiji, I read an ad where someone was saying that he was selling is entire Star Wars collection at the local flea market. So we both jumped into our geek mobile and got over there...

And it was worth it. We got the updated Darth Vader Tie Fighter from the Legacy collection, brand new and sealed. The thing is HUGE and looks great and actually fires missiles! We finally got the set of two Jawas figures (my son loves them), and a Boba Fett look-alike called Jodo Kast, which I had never heard of. We also got another Emperor figure, the leader of the Gungan and Sebulba which my son is crazy for.

I just counted and my son owns 61 Star Wars figures, 4 spaceships, 1 vehicule and 4 big monsters. Not bad at all for a three years old! And it is only the beginning...
